Right from the start
When Johann Nicolaus Worlée took the oath of allegiance to the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg as a spice merchant in 1783, he could hardly have imagined that he was laying the foundations for a company that would one day enjoy worldwide success. What began as a trade in exotic spices developed into a remarkable success story over the centuries.
Since Emil Heinrich Worlée officially founded the company in 1851, it has been firmly anchored in the international commodities market. Today, Reinhold von Eben-Worlée is the fifth generation of his family to manage the traditional family business. With his eldest daughter, Johanna von Eben-Worlée, who has been actively involved in the company since January 2020, the Worlée Group is preparing to master the challenges of the future. Johanna is driving forward pioneering projects in the areas of transformation and change, providing new impetus for the sustainable success of the family business.
