The WÉCareAgri audit standard was developed in 2024 by the WNP and the NGO CARE Egypt Foundation as part of a joint project. The project is part of the Due Diligence Fund and is funded by the Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains Initiative under the umbrella of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). The standard, which can be found on this page, is freely accessible and is intended to help companies monitor compliance with social aspects by suppliers in global agricultural supply chains.
The WÉCareAgri audit standard can be used for second-party supplier audits by qualified and trained audit personnel from the CSR and sustainability departments of companies in the food industry. The publication of the standard is intended to enable companies in the food industry to increase transparency about working conditions in supply chains, improve the sustainability performance of suppliers, further develop supplier partnerships, reduce risks in procurement and thus strengthen the trust of customers and other stakeholders.
The WÉCareAgri audit standard covers nine social principles, including fair remuneration, decent working hours, gender equality, no child or forced labour and more. It has been designed and tested for use in global, processing and agricultural operations.
The WÉCareAgri audit standard can be found below. This consists of a central document, the manual, as well as several templates that support the implementation of the audit. The handbook describes the process from the selection of suppliers for the audit, through the implementation of the audit, to the continuous improvement and development of suppliers. The listed templates are used for data collection, evaluation and development planning, among other things.

Any liability for damages and consequential damages resulting from the use of the audit standard is excluded. The author also accepts no liability for the accuracy, completeness and up-to-dateness of the information provided.
